I’m a military brat, so that’s hard to answer! We moved around a lot, so my identity isn’t tied to any one specific place, and I kind of like it that way. I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Then we moved to Kodiak, Alaska, Honolulu, Hawaii, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Chesapeake, Virginia. In Virginia, I’ve also lived in Richmond, Norfolk, and now Charlottesville.
Oh, yes! Art school, man.
I'd really like to get better at 3d. I've been playing with Cinema4d Lite recently and it's been a blast.
CreativeMornings is a free monthly breakfast lecture series for the creative community. There are over 190 chapters in 66 countries worldwide. We believe everyone is creative and everyone is welcome. I host the chapter in Charlottesville, so I'm responsible for working with a team of volunteers to find speakers, sponsors, venues, breakfast, and coffee for our events every month. I also introduce the speakers which is the perfect time to try out all of my dad jokes.
I have a small tattoo of a carrot behind my right ear. I think all tattoos end up serving as a reminder of the time when you got them and that's certainly what it is to me now, but at the time it was a visual representation of my 8 years of vegetarianism. I've been vegan now for 5 years, but I don't care for people to know that anymore, so I sometimes sidestep the carrot question. Now you know!
You betcha! Her name is Avery. She is a lil chunk with a tiny head and she loves people, but hates other cats! I got her from a shelter, so I'm still trying to figure that one out. No, I'm not a cat person. I love dogs and all animals really, but cats are the easiest fluff balls to take care of in an apartment, so here we are.
