I don't really know! Both of my parents were in the military, so we moved around a lot. My identity isn’t tied to any one specific place and I like it that way...kinda. I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Then we moved to Kodiak, Alaska, Honolulu, Hawaii, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Chesapeake, Virginia. In Virginia, I’ve also lived in Richmond, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and now Charlottesville. Where to next...🤔
Oh, yes! Art school, man.
Glitch art uses errors in digital mediums for aesthetic purposes. I mostly corrupt the code in JPG image files to get a random distortion effect, and then use applications like photoshop to adapt the glitchy texture to a new form. It sounds complicated, but I promise it's simple and quite fun to mess around with. 👽
CreativeMornings is a free monthly breakfast lecture series for the creative community with over 200 chapters worldwide. We believe everyone is creative and everyone is welcome. I host the chapter in Charlottesville, so I work with a team of volunteers to find speakers, sponsors, venues, breakfast, and coffee for our events every month. I also introduce the speakers which is the perfect time to try out all of my dad jokes.
I have a small tattoo of a carrot behind my right ear. I think all tattoos end up serving as a reminder of the time when you got them and that's certainly what it is to me now. I don't care for people to know what it meant to me when I got it anymore. Shout out to all the people who have known me for years and never asked. You are the real MVPs.
You betcha! Her name is Avery. She is a lil chonk with a tiny head and she loves people, but hates other cats! I got her from a shelter, so I'm still trying to figure that one out. No, I'm not a cat person. I love dogs too and all animals really.
